I love working at HSEC, and love my work family. I hold a bachelors degree in biology from Adrian College in Michigan, and an associates degree in veterinary technology.  I have worked in the animal field for my entire life in varying capacities including working with wildlife, domestic and exotic hoofstock, reptiles, cats and dogs.  I was a veterinary technician instructor at Stautzenberger College in Maumee, Ohio for three years.

I have been part of the HSEC team for 5 1/2 yrs. I've been married for 37 yrs. to Barry and have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. After retiring I decided I want my next career to be something I loved and not just a job. Animals have always been a part of my life growing up and our own family is no different. Daisy is our 11 yr. old chi weenie and is wearing her summer festive outfit from her 2012 collection!

This is my cat Todd and dog T-Bone. I earned my B.A. in Communications from BGSU. I have been with the HSEC for about a year and a half, and I am a key holder. Todd has been the key holder of my heart for about 6.5 years. I rescued him from the farm where I had my horses. He is about 7 years old now. I rescued T-Bone from the HSEC and he has been in my life for a couple months now. I've always wanted to be in a career field where I helped animals and wanted to use my education for such. I could not ask for better place to work and with a better group of people!

Shelter Attendant, July 2019 – present

I am a retired Air Force veteran where I earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees in Logistics Management and Public Health Technology. I am also a Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA). I worked for the HSEC in 2014 for about 6 months and quit to pursue my education. After working in my field of study for a couple of years, I realized my true passion is caring for animals. I was fortunate to apply at the right time, rehired, and feel like I’m back “home”. I enjoy coming to work and seeing the smiles on the faces of adopters. Even more happy for the fur babies who get a loving home. I am the proud pet parent to 5 cats (2 males/3 females); Beau, Luna, Onyx, Winnie and Autumn. (3 of my fur babies were adopted through HSEC). Not quite the “crazy cat lady”; just a lady who adores cats. One day I hope to be an animal behaviorist-the female version of “Jackson Galaxy”.
